Guide
What ageing skin needs
Collagen production slows from the mid-twenties, and the sun breaks down what is left. Prevention (sunscreen) is worth more than any serum; repair (retinoids) is the most proven step after it.
What actually helps
- Sunscreen every single day, including indoors near windows. It is the most effective anti-ageing product there is.
- Retinol at night, starting two nights a week and building up. It speeds cell turnover and stimulates collagen.
- Vitamin C in the morning protects against the daily damage that ages skin, and brightens.
- Peptides and PDRN support repair and firmness and are gentle enough for every night.
- Hyaluronic acid to keep skin plump; lines look softer on hydrated skin.
A simple routine
Morning: cleanser, vitamin C, moisturiser, sunscreen. Evening: cleanser, retinol (or a peptide serum on the nights off), moisturiser.
Retinol without the irritation
Start low and slow, apply to dry skin, buffer with moisturiser if you feel stinging, and skip it on nights you exfoliate. Some dryness in the first weeks is normal; peeling and burning are not.
